Prairie summer... back to Edmonton

The day after we got back to Edmonton we went to the "Taste of Edmonton" a food festival that happens every summer in downtown. The highlight was Carlon enjoying his first frozen fruity goodness... Strawberry

Prairie summer... ice cream treat

Just down the road from the Friesens was a driving range/ice cream parlour... we partook of the latter. Carter had to push the stroller both ways and Carlon came within inches of tasting his first frozen creamy goodness.

Prairie Summer... dinner with the Friesens

We enjoyed many lovely dinners with our friends Jenn, Paul and Carter Friesen. Here are some shots of just one of the evenings. When we first got into Winnipeg we landed in a thunderstorm and were stuck on the plane for 40 minutes. The weather for the next few days after that was less than summerey. I think this was the evening of the first day of good weather.

Prairie Summer day four...

Carlon and I hung out together while Brad was at the conference. Fortuneately he didn't mind posing. Afterwards Brad came back and we toured The Forks. (similar to Granville Island)

Prairie Summer... day three and a new camera

Part of day two and into day three. Brad was testing out our new camera

We got settled in Winnipeg at the senior Friesens and Carlon enjoyed a "new" toy

Prairie Summer... day two

Day two of our trip saw us through Jasper and found us in Edmonton...
A black bear as we drove through Jasper... We also saw a lynx mom with her cub cross the highway but I didn't have my camera ready :(

Prairie Summer... day one

Well, we're back from our prairie trip and have lots to share. We took advantage of no PST in Alberta and purchased a new camera early in the trip. A Nikon D5000 and we're quite happy with it. We took two days to drive to Edmonton, spent a day and a half in Edmonton, then it was on to Winnipeg for about a week. We spent time with family in Edmonton and Winnipeg was all about the Friesens, oh, and a denomonational conference. Day one was driving to Valemount.

Now you've been prefaced... enjoy the pics.

Lunch break and play break for Carlon at Lac le jeune....
