unexpected, eventful christmastime

This Christmas certainly did not go as planned. We celebrated early with the Tincks, that part was expected, and had great fun (although a little overwhelming for Carlon). Then a few days later we were on our way to Edmonton for Christmas with the Alberta Reids. We should have been there last christmas but having just had Carlon, none of us were interested in flying out. So this was the year and what a Christmas it was. Things started out normal... your basic flight, cold weather, Carlon not sleeping :( oh well. Then it all changed. Christmas eve Carlon woke up very upset, in my attempts to settle him down he threw up, then proceeded to throw up/dry heave every 40 min to an hour for the rest of the night finally ceasing at around 5:30am. Somewhere in the middle there I started with the same malady (can't let Carlon have all the fun). My stomach did not betray me as often as Carlon's did, I was however cemented to my bed for the better part of Christmas day while Carlon looked as though he hadn't had to endure a thing. I managed to make it out of bed for the family gathering in the evening but it didn't last long. Then in the middle of that night Brad woke with the same problem. He somehow managed to keep from getting as sick as Carlon or me but he has been twice as long in recovering. It took a good five days for my appetite to return, it's still not 100%. Ah well, this too shall pass. Brad and I proudly accept our parental badges of honour for the all night puke, and Brad gets an extra one for going above and beyond to take care of a sick son and wife. I couldn't have survived the night without him. Hopefully the end of 2010 doesn't end with the same refusal as 2009.
Merry Christmas to all and a Happy and Blessed New Year!

New snow suit

My favourite "auntie" Val gave me a snow suit for Christmas. It sure is nice to know I have so many people who love me. Thanks Auntie Val.

BRRRR!!!

The weather in the Lower Mainland has been quite chilly (for the lower mainland). Highs of zero celcius and overnight lows of -15 degrees. The only benefit is that the skies have been clear so we're enjoying sunny days and beautiful sunsets. Carlon was subject to my whims today as I NEEDED to get out of the house. We bundled up and headed to Starbucks for Chistmas shopping and Payless Shoes for new boots for me (yay they were on sale!)
We've dicovered that Carlon's skin does not favour the cold. What is a challenge to protect in a mild west coast winter will be a real challenge as we spend Christmas with the Alberta Reids this season. (currently -25 there) Brrrr!!!!

Saturday play time

We had a wonderfully relaxing Saturday this past weekend. Biscuts for breakfast and playtime with Carlon.

Birthdays and Family

Last Thursday all the Tincks got together to celebrate Linda's and Mom's birthdays. It's great to be together and see the cousins interact. Carlon is playing piano with his cousin Brennan.

On the move!!

What more can be said!

Snuggles with Daddy

Carlon is so busy with playing and just being a boy that we don't get the snuggles as often as we used to. So, when it does happen we try to capture it. We do get the occaisional random hug but it doesn't last very long. This was actually in the morning, we hadn't changed Carlon out of his jammies yet. I think it gives the picture a little more love. Our little boy, in his rocket ship pj's having snuggles with daddy.
